Owned by Charlie Gatton, he has the knowledge and experience of all aspects of grassland and paddock maintenance, with our compact tractor we prided ourselves on being able to tackle the most awkward of landscapes with minimal disturbance to the ground.

Topping & Grass Cutting Caistor & Brigg

Topping paddocks (mowing or cutting) is the best way of preventing weeds from going to seed. It is an essential part of paddock maintenance and removes any dead, stalk or unpalatable grasses and allows fresh grass to spread. Our compact tractor and 6ft topper can access small areas or places with awkward access.

Harrowing & Rolling Market Rasen

Harrowing is traditionally carried out in spring and autumn and also should be scheduled into your yearly maintenance. This will rake the ground allowing healthier spring growth, together with rolling this will level out any unevenness caused by poaching and help to spread the grass crowns therefore maximising the spring growth.

Having suitable stock proof fences is essential to ensure the safety of your horses, and those who may be passing by. It can also significantly improve the appearance and value of your property.

Depending on your requirements and budget, we can undertake your fencing project, whether traditional post and rails, stock fencing, or semi-permanent electric fencing.

Many of our fencing contracts are for small areas and our flexibility and experience of equestrian requirements has enabled us to offer a service which is individual to your needs.

Hedge Cutting Contractors

In addition to fencing, we can also undertake hedge trimming on your property. This is usually undertaken to improve visibility along roads and around gateways, but we can also trim back overgrown trees to reveal more of your fields for grazing.

We will carry out hedge trimming during the winter months and make sure that this activity does not conflict with the nesting periods of hedgerow birds. Depending on your requirements, and the accessibility, we can either trim back the hedges using a mechanical trimmer, or if you prefer, we can ‘lay the hedge’ to create a stock proof barrier.
